Ancestral Timeline Coming Soon

Isbrand and Hiordis brought into this world a daughter, Valdis, in the year 966 AD. The youngest, she had an older brother, Isgar, five years older, and born in 961..

They lived among the Clan of Isbrand's father, Iarngard. A coastal Clan, the sea was their life... providing food and the means to seek out new lands. While some stayed home to farm the land and fish the nearby waters, others sailed to new worlds.

Taking after her mother, Valdis became a healer of the clan. Isgar continued to sail the seas and explore distant shores, yet fishing became his lifelong love. He eventually settled in Scotland, married and had a large family, using his skills as a seaman/fisherman to support his brood.

The following is under construction

Valdis Isbrandsdottir, born 966

Father: Isbrand, born 935 to Iarngard and ? - Head of the House at Eidsvoll
Mother: Haldis, born 935
Brother: Isgar, born 961 - Head of the House at (Scotland ?)

Early ancestors of the family were thought to have come from the northern lands of Norway. Other than their descendants, all that is left of their legacy is that Isbrand's fathers were from the Land of the Midnight Sun. Throughout the many years they slowly and eventually migrated further and further south (During the Bronze Age, up to 400 A.D.) till they reached Southeastern Norway near Lake Mjøsa. Eidsvoll or Eidsvoldboth is one of the oldest confederacies, the Eidsivalag, held its assemblies there from the 1st century. The ancestors who made it that far south had come from a long line of farmers (like everyone else during that time). Eventually, during the following years (by the 5th and 6th centuries), Isbrand's fathers' fathers had established a good sized fort. Some of his sons left to help establish more towns and cities in Norway, including Stavenger which was founded in the 8th century; and some became warriors for Harold and were among those who fought alongside him in Hafrsfjord in 872 which established him as the first King of Norway.

During the 9th and 10th Centuries, when the Norsemen established settlements throughout west and southwest Europe, and established Trade Routes, Isbrand's fathers' fathers took up a variety of tradeskills. Eventually, sons of the House became seamen, explorers, lumberers, crafters, shipbuilders, merchants and some helped to colonize other lands.

Throughout the years it was rumored that one of Haldis's ancestors was the half human great-granddaughter of the Goddesss Sif. Impossible to prove, yet believed to be truth by her family. All of the women of Haldis's family who were thought to be descended of Sif were believed to hold special gifts which included knowledge of herbs, healing and sometimes prophecy.
